Sunday, Day 111, 100% Raw Fruitarian. i had to leave my house at 6:30am this morning. i spoke at a state prison. It was about 2 hours from me. i have done this many times over the years and its always very rewarding. i was invited by a local pastor that i met to discuss life insurance. When one meets men, some of whom are to spend the rest of their life behind bars, there is very little pretense. No high theories that mean nothing. These guys want answers and they mean business. i love that, because it allows me to get into the Word. No denominations, no churches, no watered down theories. The straight truth. If they think you don't know what you are talking about, they will tell you. If they find what you say to be true, they will say so. We had a wonderful time. The officials want me to come back in the future and i really look forward to it. It was a beautiful day today in terms of weather. It reached 80 degrees and it was sunny. So i went out with my 17 year old and played some basketball in my worn out old sneakers. It was good exercise. My son plays all the time and i have not been out there since October. But he saw that the old man with the strange diet has alot left (lol). The thing is, i went out there right after i ate my non-sweet fruity salad. Looking back i think i should have had the juice concoction i made then and the salad after. It would have been easier on the digestion. We live and learn. Here was today's menu:
Breakfast:
4 bananas, 2 tangerines, one navel orange, one avocado (881 calories).
Lunch:
Non-sweet fruity salad with banana-avocado dressing and raw chives. (902 calories).
dinner:
60 oz of juice made from 1.5 canteloupes and 12 oranges. Really good. (638 calories)
Snack:
2 bananas. (210 calories).
Exercise: About an hour or so of basketball.

Day 108, 100% Raw Fruitarian
Thursday, Day 108, 100% Raw Fruitarian. Today was an avocado day. i ate three of them today. i had one in my lunch (half in my sauce, half in my salad), then two more for dinner. i felt no ill effects at all and they were extremely satisfying. i like them when they are somewhat firm but have some give to them. They are very creamy and have a slight nutty flavor. Delicious. i have not gotten to the point where i totally understand how they work in my system yet. Sometimes they feel heavy and other times they don't. i did notice that today, i ate two of them alone on an empty stomach, then followed them up with 3 tangerines and 2 navel oranges. Maybe that was why i had no issues, the order in which i ate them.....i don't know. But they were very good. i also had a very good workout today, attempting one armed pushups for the first time in my life. Interesting indeed. Here was today's menu:
Breakfast:
3 tangerines, 2 mangos, 3 bananas. (740 calories)
Lunch:
Non-sweet fruity salad with banana-avocado sauce. (1289 calories)
Dinner:
2 avocados, 3 tangerines, 2 navel oranges. (849 calories).
Exercise:
16 one armed pushups, 32 hand-clap pushups, 50 regular pushups, 3 sets of 2 minutes in a horse stance. took about 25 minutes.
Grace and Peace be multiplied.

Day 107, 100% Raw Fruitarian
Wednesday, Day 107, 100% Raw Fruitarian. i was feeling down on myself today. i am sure most people can relate. Like a failure. It was one of those decision-making days. Today i decided, that i am tired of debt, of owing people money. If my Heavenly Father can help me get out of debt, i will never get back into again. Ever. As i looked over the past few years of my life today, my mistakes seem like giant red flags. i do not blog this to seek pity, please none of that. But i simply want to blog my experience as it really is in my life, from my perspective. i suppose in the past this type of day may have been an excuse for me to eat things i know i shouldn't. i am past that point now by the Grace of the Lord. From the experience i have had in life, i know i will rise above this. These verses help me today:
Micah 7:8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
Micah 7:9 I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
i really thank the God of Heaven for the Bible. Especially in times like these. i ate very well today. It was not the type of day that would make the mono-meal crowd happy, but it sure did make me happy...LOL. This is also a testament to where i am right now. The food i ate today really also helped me with my mood. In the past it could have been stuff like fried chicken or veggie "meat" sandwiches or PB&Js. It could have been an apple pie or oreo cookies or a pizza. Today, this is what it was:
Breakfast:
7 valencia oranges, 2 mangos, one large red tomato, one avocado (1011 calories)
Lunch:
Non-sweet fruity salad with banana-avocado dressing and curry. (818 calories).
Dinner:
10 valencia oranges, 3 navel oranges. (799 calories).
That was the last of my valencias. Man i will miss them! The sister that brought me some last week has ordered another case for me. Very much looking forward to getting them. i tell you the truth, i could eat 2 cases per week easily. Seriously. i love them.
i have listed 7 fruits that i could definitely live on indefinitely. Oranges, melons, durian, mango, bananas, avocados, tomatoes.....throw in some cukes and celery and i am all set....
Exercise: 10 minutes of isometrics. Mental exhaustion stopped me more than anything else. This would have been a good day to run or even walk. But it was raining all day. That too will pass.
Grace and Peace be multiplied.

Day 106, 100% Raw Fruitarian
Tuesday, Day 106, 100% Raw Fruitarian. Another day of drama and intrigue. What else is new? Sometimes one phone call or email can really be something. Both for good and for evil. It can either cause such rejoicing that one walks on air the rest of the day or it can cause one to hold up the shield of faith with both hands and all the soul. The latter was the case today. But, praise my kind Father in Heaven and my loving Saviour, i made it. i ate very well today. Lunch was provided by a prospect on the road in the form of two large, spotted bananas. Delicious. No time for exercise today, but i will definitely catch up on that front. Besides, my triceps are still sore from sunday. Very good feeling that soreness from reaching the muscle deeply. Today's menu was:
Breakfast:
12 valencia oranges, one banana. (816 calories)
Lunch:
2 large bananas. (242 calories)
Dinner:
Large non-sweet fruity salad with chopped chives and avocado-banana sauce. (1162 calories)
Exercise: none.

Day 105, 100% Raw Fruitarian
Monday, Day 105, Raw Fruitarian. i ate very well today. i have to look up what food category chives are in, i would guess they are an herb. Well, they really added a nice zest to my dinner today. What a great blessing that they grow all over my yard and the neighborhood! i tell you the truth, one of life's great pleasures (at least for me), is a satisfying meal. Especially after a hard day. i am so happy that i am at the point where a bowl of non-sweet fruit with no salt is extremely satisfying to me. i still use herbs obviously, but getting off the salt is huge for me at this time. Here are todays meals:
Breakfast:
9 valencia oranges, 2 mangos. (803 calories)
Lunch:
10 valencia oranges, 2 bananas, 3/4 of a pineapple (973 calories)
Dinner:
Large non-sweet fruity salad with banana-avocado sauce. (1043 calories)

Day 104, 100% Raw Fruitarian
Sunday, Day 104, 100% Raw Fruitarian. Life can be very interesting. The walk of faith even more so. There is pain in the growth in grace and the crucifixion of self, but there are also many joys and amusements. Case in point, it is now Monday as i am blogging this. i am blogging events as of yesterday (sunday). i have not blogged in several days because my internet and phone are out. i am blogging this from my office. The last time i blogged, i had received a box of valencia oranges from a dear sister in Christ just as i had run out of fruit to eat. The box actually had 100 oranges in it. Friday, i went to the library to check my emails and lo, a dear soul gave a $100 contribution to us which bought us groceries for the weekend. It is a challenge for sure, but in a strange way it is also fun and amusing. Just seeing how we get provided for in times of need is amazing. These days it seems every day is a challenge and i never know what to expect. Who needs to watch TV when i have real life drama? So i (and my family) ate well this weekend. With our newfound wealth i also purchased another case of those valencias (i found out they were $25 per case, a tremendous deal in these parts), which i obtained on sunday. i had a great workout today. The best one so far as a fruitarian. i have had better on my raw journey, but i can definitely tell that i will be reaching new heights because of the effects of fruitarianism. Here was today's menu:
Breakfast:
14 valencia oranges. What i am doing is slicing them up into quarters and sucking what i can out of them. They are delicious. i feel like i took some sort of energy pill every time i eat them. We have found that 4 of them produce 16oz of juice, so i had nearly 48oz worth. Very good. (830 calories)
Lunch:
Delicious non-sweet fruity salad with a small twist. As we were doing our 4 mile walk today, we noticed that one of the natural blessings of southern virginia have started springing up all over. Chives. They have a onion-like smell but much lighter. We plucked up a few handfuls and i began eating them. They tasted salty to me, like onion-garlic potato chips. Of course this made me eat more of them (LOL). i added them to my salad as well as my sauce (Banana-orange juice-avocado), very good indeed. i also ate one extra avocado. They really help with calories when food is low. They taste good too (smile). (1142 calories).
Dinner:
7 valencia oranges (415 calories)
Exercise:
4 mile brisk walk. Then i did my 20 minute workout. In the 20 minutes this time i was able to complete: 200 pushups, 30 chin-ups, 60 one legged squats (per leg). Not bad and still improving.
Grace and Peace be multiplied.

Day 100, 100% Raw Fruitarian
Wednesday, Day 100, 100% Raw Fruitarian. Well, its been 100 days. Overall i am feeling physically wonderful. Very light, alert and energetic. My mind and spirit are attentive and i am really connecting with Heaven on a new level. My weight is 183lbs. Officially that is 10lbs lighter than where i started. i have been involved in a very stressful period of my life and through it all i have been able thru Grace to continue this journey. Its still only in the beginning, but it is doing great things for me. i am having strong cravings over the last week for certain things. Fried chicken, fried fish, cheeseburgers and pizza. The interesting thing is the chicken, fish and pizza have not entered my body temple in 10 yrs. The beef, that has to be at least 20yrs. So i think its the salt among other things, that i am craving. But its not at all any sort of raging battle in me. i have no desire to actually go and eat these things, but i think of them. i feel that this is just another place in the journey and that in time (i don't think more than a few months), these things will not appeal to me at all.
Today, a wonderful thing happened. While i was at work, a sister in Christ who wants to go raw stopped by my home to get some pointers from my wife. She came bearing a gift. A case filled with valencia oranges! There must be somewhere in the neighborhood of 60-70 of them in that box. Now i know what i will be eating tomorrow. Mono meals for sure. If i had to live on one food for any length of time, oranges would be one of the ones i would choose (along with bananas, durian, mango or avocado). i ate one this evening after my non-sweet salad but tomorrow they will be a large part of my nourishment. Today's meals were:
Breakfast:
4 tangerines, one banana. (313 Calories)
Dinner:
Non-sweet fruity salad with tangerine-avocado dressing. One valencia orange. (1005 calories).
exercise: none today
